Select Your Track

UX Designer Track

This track is for talented designers who will have the opportunity to rapidly grow their skills and expertise working directly with founder companies and providing design leadership for StartX. We are looking for highly creative and adaptive team members efficient in understanding user needs, thoughtfully designing and delivering key experiences for founders, and maximizing our entrepreneurs' abilities to collaborate with each other. This role may be a fit for you if you are interested in learning from founders and seeing up close what it takes to build a successful start-up. You can expect to rapidly grow your user research, relationship-building, communication and experience design skill sets.

Investor Relations Track

This track is for those who aspire to learn more about the funding landscape and how start-ups prepare to raise rounds, as well as build a strong sense of what a good demo day pitch looks like through multiple feedback loops. StartX helps connect our entrepreneurs with top investors in Silicon Valley and globally. StartX Fellows in the Investor Relations track will learn how to manage investor communication, facilitate mentorship and coaching for founders, and monitor entrepreneurship and industry trends. You can expect to.start out in the admissions process where StartX founders build their pitches and get feedback from experts in the community, and work your way up toward StartX's Investor Demo Day platform which brings together top Silicon valley investors along with the companies participating in the demo day event.

Business Development Track

This track is for students who aim to increase their exposure to corporate executives and knowledge of leaders in industry. StartX sources new corporate partners each year, based on real-world trends in the fastest growing industries around the world. Work side-by-side with StartX's top entrepreneurs and learn how to build a business development playbook that commands the attention of any corporate executive. StartX Fellows in this track will begin with small single-industry market research projects, and work your way up to delivering live presentations to global Fortune 500 Executives. Along the way you can also expect to quickly sharpen skills in external relations, community-building and event design, as well as gain real-world experience in facilitation, communication and project management. If you are a graduate student with deep research experience in a specific industry, it can be eye-opening to uncover the inner workings of the real-world corporations that power your industry on the other side.

Performance Marketing Track

Showcase your creativity and adaptability to craft stories and develop marketing campaigns, social media strategies, messaging & brand all across the startup ecosystem. Students in this track are expected to exercise their skillsets in graphic design, layouts, digital UI/UX and web design, and (optionally) product design. You do not need to be a master in all fields but must have an eye for detail, be able to take feedback, meet deadlines, and learn fast. StartX Fellows in this track will start out by developing specific brand-aligned materials for the Student-in-Residence Accelerator, while receiving live feedback on your performance through StartX's data science systems. You can expect to gain real-world marketing experience, interact with Stanford's top founders & mentors, and accumulate a portfolio of successful marketing campaigns. Top performing StartX Fellows in the Performance Marketing track will earn the ability to lead StartX's entire campus strategy for a year.

Co-Managing Director, Student Accelerator

This track is for students who strive to lead StartX's Student-in-Residence Accelerator, responsible for community-building, mentorship, education and resource delivery. Passion for the orgniazational mission and willingness to learn are a must. Explore how Stanford’s best student entrepreneurs operate and rapidly grow start-ups as they build strong foundations. You can expect to rapidly grow your user research, relationship-building, communication and experience design skill sets. Along the way, you will develop the ability to deeply understand the needs of founders, and design innovative ways for mutually-beneficial connections. StartX fellows in this track will begin with a small events management project, and work your way up to increasingly larger strategic components of the accelerator. If you demonstrate excellence in this role, you will also be considered for leadership roles when new StartX Fellows join in the following quarter.
