Electrical Engineer Trainee (Pathways Internship Program), Rural Development

The Pathways Internship Program under USDA Rural Development offers opportunities in the Federal Government to current students at qualifying institutions. This program offers paid opportunities to work in federal agencies and explore federal careers while completing your education.


This is a salary position with full and part-time schedules available to accommodate ongoing students.


Summary

This position serves as a Student Trainee (Electrical Engr) under the Pathways Intern Program.The intern will continue to receive on-the-job training from the Electrical Engineer in order to understand and complete limited engineering projects; accomplish developmental assignments utilizing basic techniques, procedures and methods; and to read, understand, analyze, interpret and convey findings.

Responsibilities

  • Receives On-the-job training which involves specific assignments working within an engineering environment.
  • Performs a variety of specific tasks typically designed to provide training and experience in the application of basic scientific knowledge pertinent to the functions of the organization in which the position is located.
  • Receives on-the-job training from the Electrical Engineer in order to understand and complete limited engineering projects; accomplish developmental assignments utilizing basic techniques, procedures and methods.
