GIS Software Developer
Job Description:
Cignus is a small aviation-focused engineering and consulting company headquartered in Leesburg, VA. We provide airport/airspace planning, systems/software engineering, simulation & modeling, and operations planning services to aviation clients worldwide.
We are currently looking for software engineering and developer interns to support our GIS software platform development efforts. The engineers will work directly with our head of development and R&D and will support the design and develop of cloud-based platforms and APIs for a geospatial/GIS data analysis platform

Virtual/Remote given the current environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or in progress)
- Programming experience in Java, Python, and Javascript
- Experience in GeoJSON and MongoDB
- Ability to use mathematics to develop visualizations in a 3D environment
- Experience in using/developing glTF datasets for 3D visualization is a definite plus
- Experience in software design, architecture, development and testing
- Ability to independently design and develop software and work within a larger project team using a structured development process such as Agile/Scrum
