Business Analyst (Electronic Research Administration)

The purpose of the Business Analysts is to work with end users, product owners, developers and business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements and business processes. Prepares and/or maintains detailed documentation pertaining to programming, systems operations, and requirements. Achieves and maintains subject matter expertise relevant to functional areas. Works with product teams and product mangers to implement changes and enhancements to applications.
Job Responsibilities
Support: Knowledge of business processes and technologies for assigned product line. Works with product owners, product teams, and other ITS teams to troubleshoot, analyze, gather requirements, and propose resolutions. Communicates potential impact of solutions. Executes solutions. Tests independently and in collaboration with product owners (30%).
Consulting/Enhancing: Works with product owners, product teams, product managers, and vendors to understand business needs and vendor product roadmaps. Documents requirements into functional and technical specifications using a variety of business analytic techniques. Recommends solutions to product owners. Works with product team to implement and test enhancements based on University product roadmap priorities. Coordinates with other ITS teams to implement solutions and to communicate solutions to appropriate parties (25%).
Reporting: Works with product team and product owners to define and document reporting needs and creates reports within applications and/or external reporting systems. Coordinates with other ITS teams to implement solutions and to communicate solutions to appropriate parties (20%).
Testing: Uses automated testing tool when available Maintains and enhances testing scripts, executes on schedule, troubleshoots results, and works with product line to recommend enhancements to business processes (15%). 
Other duties as assigned (10%).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in technology or business related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with InfoEd experience and/or Research Administration experience
Special or Physical Qualifications
The Business Analyst position requires the employee to be continuously available and maintain an acceptable, appropriate level of access to LSU infrastructure/systems. It is the employee’s responsibility to sustain a proper connection to LSU that allows the Business Analyst to perform work-related duties from a remote location.
