Healthcare SAS Analyst
Job Duties
- Analyze relational database structure and complex data systems.
- Develop SAS code to ensure client reports are run properly and data integrity is maintained.
- Utilize multiple databases and software to pull data or code used for reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
- Participate in internal department client review meetings to ensure reporting workflow and procedures run smoothly.
- Validate new code or revisions with internal staff members to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required with major coursework in computer science, statistics, mathematics, biostatistics, or a related field.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university is highly preferred with major coursework in computer science, statistics, mathematics, biostatistics, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience may be substituted for educational experience.
- Time spent in pursuit of advanced degree (e.g., master's, doctorate, etc.) may be substituted for experience requirements.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience required in developing, modifying and maintaining SAS program suites to include experience working with large amounts of data (e.g., over 5 million records, etc.), data warehousing, and knowledge of SAS MACRO and other advanced techniques.
- Minimum one year of experience with relational data base structure and complex data systems preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience with healthcare related data and research preferred.
Technical:
- Base SAS Programmer certification is preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience with advanced/complex SAS programming and application development is preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience with different database systems such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc. is preferred.
Other:
- Strong quantitative skills required.
- Ability to multi-task and think creatively required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.
- Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English required.
