Market Policy Intern

IEX Market Policy Intern - Summer 2020

As a summer intern with the Market Policy team, you'll work with individuals across the organization to help advance IEX's policy and regulatory initiatives. This is a cross-functional opportunity where you'll be able to leverage your technical and quantitative skills to help IEX set new standards and raise the bar for performance, fairness, and transparency.
 
No prior finance experience is necessary - just an appetite to dive deep into the raw data and learn as you go. As an intern, you'll help us build a scalable solution to tackle challenges in analyzing financial datasets, as well as design research studies to analyze and better understand the resulting data.

What you'll do:
  • Work with raw data from a variety of sources
  • Design and implement solutions to parse and transform unstructured data
  • Validate / test data accuracy and scalability of system
  •  Work closely with the team on data analyses to help drive policy efforts
 
Your background:
  • Undergraduate working towards a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative field
  •  Familiarity with programming languages and tools for data analysis (specifically Python, pandas, SQL)
  • Experience working with large data sets or time series data is helpful
  • Familiarity with financial markets and regulation is helpful
