Reporting Analyst

As a Reporting Analyst, you’ll be responsible for delivering value to Gas South through Business Intelligence Reporting and Analytics by driving insights to actions. This position is responsible for providing governed KPIs and interactive dashboards to the business. You will be responsible for ensuring high data quality and integrity, building reports and dashboards and conducting analysis on data in the Data Lake and the Data Warehouse. You will work closely with the business to design and develop metrics, reports and analysis that drives key business decisions. You will perform the initial analysis for the business and works with the development teams to automate and scale the methods used in the analysis to drive actionable insights. This role will be the first point of contact for the business for all data related questions. This role will be responsible for data governance and ensures consistency in reporting across the entire organization

Other stuff we like:
- Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science, business or related field.
- At least 2-3 years prior experience in field or related area.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge in SQL and relational data bases
- Hands on experience with Power BI and SQL Server analysis services.
- Experience with the design, development, and building of dashboards and visualizations
- Experience in Python and statistical tools such as R, SAS preferred
- Extensive hands-on data analysis experience with large datasets.

- Works with the stakeholders to understand business needs, data requirements and translate the requirements into effective reporting, visualization and actionable in-sights.
- Perform root cause analysis on data issues and help the development team implement audits and governance processes to improve data quality.
- Create and maintain rich interactive dashboards and visualizations that are user friendly and actionable.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis on new business requests and support the streamlining and automation of these requests with the development team.
- Develop and maintain a semantic reporting layer to help business do self-serve reporting.
- Monitor, process, validate and deliver reports to business by adhering to timeline and priorities.
- Audit data management processes to proactively ensure data quality.
- Work with stakeholders in recognizing data needs and gaps and work with the development team to mature the data models on an on-going basis.
- Acquire data from multiple source to provide proof of concepts, analysis and reporting to the business.
