Middle School Math Teacher for 2020-21

All Saints’ Episcopal Day School in Phoenix seeks an experienced and talented Middle School mathematics educator to begin August 2020. We are looking for a candidate that has a strong mathematical background and experience in teaching mathematics. We value candidates who are passionate about middle school, have a love for math, and are innovative and knowledgeable about how to make mathematics come alive both in and out of the classroom. Successful candidates can facilitate learning by recognizing individual needs and helping students develop in-depth problem solving and analytical skills in the area of mathematics.
We place a high value on community and seek candidates who have excellent interpersonal skills and who work well with students, colleagues, and parents. This full-time position will teach four sections of middle school math in sixth, seventh and eighth grades, and advise a group of 10–12 students, as well as the other responsibilities of being an independent school educator.

Qualifications
●       Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, education, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
●       Education, training and/or experience in forward-thinking pedagogical approaches and theory 
●       Successful experience teaching mathematics to Middle School students, and preferred experience teaching first-year High School algebra 
●       Ability to utilize and integrate technology to transform instruction
●       Creativity, passion for the subject matter, and a positive attitude
●       An appreciation for and an understanding of the social, emotional, educational, and developmental needs of learners ages 10–14

Curriculum and Program
Instructional Management
●       Maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered academic environment that is supportive of diverse learners and focused on individualized growth. Classroom environment has an atmosphere of trust, consistency, and respect
●       Utilize and develop learning outcomes for specified curriculum. Maintain strong standards that focus on teaching meaning and focus on problem-solving and thinking in addition to strong skills
●       Integrate and use technology to enhance student learning and achievement
●       Plan instructional activities in collaboration with grade-level colleagues, attend weekly collaborative planning meetings
●       Demonstrate a passion for subject content, skill mastery, and foster a love of learning
Student and Team Student Support
●       Serve as an advisor to 10–12 students
●       Plan activities in collaboration with grade-level advisory team and attend regular collaborative planning meetings
●       Provide before-school or after-school assistance to students as needed
●       Understand and implement Student Success Plans with the support of our Learning Support Services Department
●       Maintain timely, respectful, and proactive communication with parents; schedule meetings as necessary with parents to address concerns
●       Participate in field trips and other curriculum enhancing activities
●       Fulfill student supervision duties as assigned
Administrative Tasks
●       Prepare grade reports, progress reports, attendance reports, and other such reports promptly and in accordance with school policy or at the request of the division head
●       Execute all duties promptly, attend meetings (during and after school), and participate in committees as directed by the Head of Middle School or Head of School
●       Participate in All Saints’ community activities outside of school hours
