Investment Operations - Summer 2020 Class Hires Program (Seattle, WA)

General Description
Parametric has 18 Associate level roles within our Client Relations and Investment Operations teams as part of our Class Hires Program. These roles are based out of our Seattle and Boston offices and will start on July 13, 2020. Departments include Portfolio Administration and Investment Operations and Client Service Solutions. The program targets recent or soon to be college graduates seeking opportunities within the financial services industry.
The Class Hires will participate in a comprehensive training program as part of a class of new hires. These are regular full time positions where new employees start their career in a comprehensive three-week training program. During the three weeks, the program builds a relevant foundation of knowledge and skills in the financial services industry—and sets you up for success in entry-level positions at Parametric.

Primary Responsibilities may include:
  • Daily, weekly, monthly data analysis with regard to  cost basis/tax lots (security details involving purchase dates, shares, tax basis, account specific info including multicurrency information for over 10,000 client accounts
  • Recordkeeping/maintenance of client records and files
  • Work with large datasets in MS Excel and manage and organize datasets of 100,000+ rows of data.
  • Daily problem-solving and research of variances, including working with custodians, third parties and internal parties to resolve issues
  • Identification of areas to gain efficiency or capacity with automation of the reconciliation process.
  • Prioritize workload and ongoing initiatives during times of peak activity
  • Improve processes and help the team expand current functions
  • Communicate/monitor specified trade instructions with custodian
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports/audits for management review
  • Work with internal and external points of contact in a professional manner
  • Resolve issues quickly with a sense of urgency and accuracy
  • Drive actionable insights and recommendations to improve the data management/analysis process
  • Ad-hoc and project work as necessary

Job Requirements
  • Graduating seniors earning a Bachelor’s (4yr) degree w/ concentration in Data Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related area of study
  • Competent in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage high volumes of data with tight deadlines
  • Experience with VBA and Macros a plus
  • Familiarity with Advent software or other accounting software or Bloomberg a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Leadership skills are encouraged 
  • Strong communication skills
