Materials Manager

Position Summary:
Responsible for the management of North America and Europe purchasing, planning and logistics.

Job Responsibilities:
·       Leads and directs the Purchasing and Warehouse teams
·       General Purchasing Department duties - creates purchase orders, data entry, sends orders to factories, expedites orders based on need
·       Forecasts levels of demand for products to meet the business needs and keep a constant check on stock levels
·       Vendor management - selection, negotiation, communication. Considers best price, quality, availability, and reliability when purchasing products. Negotiates with suppliers on cost and lead time reductions. Communicates on purchase orders with vendors.
·       Imports shipment tracking, including coordination of transportation logistics with factories, truckers and freight forwarders for incoming and outgoing shipments
·       Processes all paperwork and shipping documents for all incoming shipments
·       Expedites inbound containers and maintains a database tracking incoming shipments
·       Coordinates returns or replacements for defectives goods with suppliers and establishes corrective action plans with quality control
·       Provides detailed information to Customer Service, Warehouse and/or Sales regarding incoming shipments, including any delays or issues

Skills & Qualifications / Experience:
·       Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing and Logistics in a manufacturing planning environment and proven managerial experience
·       Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and assessment of tariffs and duties. Versed in the shipment of dangerous goods, specifically lithium batteries domestic (ground and air) and international air regulations (China, Europe and India) that govern the transport of lithium batteries; such as classification, identification, packaging requirements, marking, labeling, documentation, and proper shipping procedures. Understanding of IATA regulations
·       Knowledge of import/export, logistics, and Macola ERP systems or other ERP systems. Experienced in BarTender Software label design and creation, database setup, integration and troubleshooting. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
·       Strong vendor relationships, negotiation and customer service skills. Experienced in presenting information to members of leadership teams within and outside of Operations. Partner with cross functional team members within Fulham in support of new product development launches, material planning and forecast management
·       Analytical and decision-making skills. Exceptional organizational, follow-up, and attention to detail skills. Ability to multitask and take on multiple projects. Self-starter with ability to work and produce independently
