Index Products Summer Internship Program
Position Overview:
MSCI Index Products Summer Internship Program is a six to eight week, paid, full-time program whereby interns are assigned to work on a specific, meaningful project sponsored by an MSCI Index Products senior member. When assigning projects, we will consider interns’ background/studies as well as current business needs, but these may include:
· Scenario and sensitivity analysis modeling to inform our pricing strategy
· Macro creation and/or dataset automation to increase productivity
· Messaging and positioning related to new product or market segment
· Development of commercial structure framework for a specific deal, product or client segment
· New ideas to enhance our internal communication strategy for Index
At the end of the program, interns will deliver a presentation of their experience and project outcome to a senior audience. Beyond gaining real project-based work experience, interns will walk away with a solid understanding of MSCI’s business, the industry that we operate in and our culture. They will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from a diverse team across the organization and will be paired with a project-advisor who will also act as buddy and provide day-to-day guidance and support. Throughout the internship, interns will also receive regular feedback along with a final feedback session at the end of the program.
Required Knowledge/Skills
· Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
· High attention to detail and good team player
· Strong analytical, data driven and problem-solving skills, ability to break down complex issues into smaller manageable parts
· Ability to prioritize effectively and work under time constraints
· Intellectual curiosity
· Passion for excellence
· Interest in, and ideally a general understanding of, the financial industry
· For certain internship projects, quantitative background and/or coding/programming skills may be required.
