Economic Assistant Intern - Remote (U.S.)

Regional Economic Models, Inc. (REMI) is looking for Economic Assistant Interns to support REMI’s software development and business development divisions. This is a good opportunity for college students interested in public policy.

*This position will be full-time and remote through the rest of 2020. Ideal for applicants who are considering a co-op for the fall semester or are taking a gap semester/year away from school.
 

Responsibilities

 
As an Economic Assistant Intern, your duties will include:

  • Support social media campaigns using LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and blogs
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of social media campaigns to maximize results
  • Prepare presentations for Business Development
  • Targeted outbound phone calls in support of Business Development
  • Test policy analysis models for consistency and functionality; report software errors
 
Tasks will involve assisting in software and business development efforts while familiarizing yourself with REMI's impact analysis tools. Throughout the process, you will work closely with senior staff. The intern’s role involves significant multi-tasking as you develop a comprehensive skill set, including economic modeling and policy analysis, while also learning more about the software development process.
 


Qualifications

 
Students with economic-, financial-, political-science-, or mathematics-related backgrounds are preferred. The successful candidate will be a motivated, responsible individual who can work with little direct supervision. Because much of our work involves group projects, good communication skills are a must.
