Instructional Designer

The role of instructional designer is primarily concerned with the development and design of educational products and innovative learning services. Instructional designers cooperate closely with product managers in order to assess the needs of clients through market research and collaboration with Hangzhou office product center members. Once learning needs are analyzed and effectively communicated, then the creative process of designing new and innovative content begins, executed through a systematic process employed to progress concepts in a consistent and timely manner. These products all undergo a meticulous editing process and are reviewed by various additional educational instructors, incorporating their comprehensive feedback to ensure each product and service is imbued with unique value.

Thinktown New York, the American-based division of Thinktown Education, is seeking a motivated Instructional Designer to work full-time in our New York office. The responsibilities of an Instructional Designer include:

·     Designing and developing learning solutions for clientele, leveraging instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create engaging and results-oriented learning activities
·     Creating solutions that satisfy the needs of ESL learners from various English proficiency levels
·     Working with other Instructional Designers and Product Managers to define the scope of learning experiences, clarify learning objectives, timelines, and projected outcomes
·     Developing client-tailored educational curricula and programs based on market research
·     Implementing tools to track the results of the client’s learning experience
·     Providing professional consultations to prospective clients
·     Utilizing our global network to collaborate with international offices
·     Conferencing with clients in person and via online platforms
·     Preparing appropriate materials for internal presentations

The ideal candidate applying for this position should have:

·     A bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5
·     A demonstrated interest in education and business
·     Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
·     Comprehensive knowledge of AP curricula is preferred
·     Ability to speak/write/read in Mandarin is preferred
·     Some degree of experience working with ESL students is preferred
·     Professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
·     Ability to collaborate effectively and enthusiastically with a team 
·     Self-motivation, innovative spirit, and results-driven outlook
·     Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
·     Anticipated start date: Immediate/Summer 2021
