Program Evaluation Fellow - Iowa Center for Children’s Justice (ICCJ)

Location: Des Moines, IA (Remote Available)
Full-Time Dates: September 14 - December 4, 2020 Part-Time Dates: September 14, 2020 - January 29, 2021
Compensation: $575/week stipend (prorated for part-time fellowship)
Deadline: August 2, 2020
COVID-19 Note:
Due to the constantly evolving nature of work with COVID-19, the fellowship will be able to completed remotely or partially remotely depending on the recommendations throughout the time of the fellowship and the ability of the selected fellow to work in-person. Additionally, the fellowship can be completed either full-time (M-F) or part-time (3 days/week that fall within M-F). All interviews will be conducted virtually. Future Leaders In Action Overview:
FLIA cultivates leaders and strengthens youth-oriented nonprofits and organizations through a fellowship program. Fellows, individuals interested in entering the social sector, work on-site full-time at a partner nonprofit to develop or implement a pre-determined enrichment program.
Throughout the fellowship, fellows gain various professional skills including fundraising, communication, program development, in a fast-paced, hands-on learning environment.
Iowa Center for Children’s Justice Overview: 
Iowa Center for Children’s Justice (ICCJ) elevates children’s views in custody matters and promotes child-focused solutions through legal representation, education and alternative dispute resolution. ICCJ provides legal representation for children to listen, support and advocate for child-focused resolutions in high-conflict custody cases. They provide divorce workshops for children. Additionally, ICCJ provides alternative dispute resolution including child-focused mediation.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
You will …
  • Learn and understand the purpose and the method of the educational divorce workshops
  • Work with attorneys at ICCJ to understand their goals in child representation and alternative dispute resolution services
  • Evaluate and update survey instruments that are used for the services of Iowa Center for Children’s Justice
  • Legal representation of children
  • Educational divorce workshops for children
  • Alternative dispute resolution
  • Ensure that these survey instruments measure both the efficacy of the programs as well as capture feedback to improve services
  • Participate in virtual leadership workshops
  • Actively participate in weekly FLIA professional development responsibilities including check-in calls
By the end of the fellowship, you will have … 
  • Developed updated surveys for legal representation, divorce workshops and alternative dispute resolution
  • Developed procedure and method for reporting measurable results of services
  • Raised $500 (with guidance and support from FLIA)
  • Written two blog articles
  • Completed final report and video
