Joesph S. Nye Development Intern

Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Development Interns work directly with members of the Development team and possess an appreciation and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, conduct development and fundraising-related research, support project and events execution, and implement data management best practices.
 
The development team is seeking intern candidates that demonstrate excellent verbal and communications skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks from several stakeholders at once, exceptional professionalism and discretion, and a willingness to learn on their feet. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated self-starters, detail-oriented, and have a track record of high-quality research and organizational and time management skills. Candidates with a background and interest in fundraising and non-profit management strongly preferred.
 
Full-time interns are compensated with a stipend of $1,500 monthly intended to help cover the cost of transportation and other daily expenses incurred during the internship. Interns work closely with CNAS senior staff and are given considerable responsibility. Participants are chosen based on merit in an open, competitive process.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Conduct research and assemble briefing memos related to development prospects and opportunities;
  • Assist the development team with ad hoc projects related to the Center’s fundraising portfolios (individual, corporate, government, and foundations);
  • Manage data input in the Center’s CRM (Salesforce);
  • Support event planning and execution;
  • Provide assistance to research programs with database and marketing tool questions; and
  • Support email marketing efforts, including tracking metrics, using the Center's marketing software.
