Mathematics Teaching Fellow
Currently seeking a mathematics teaching fellows. Applicants from any faith background welcome to apply, though, all applicants must show openness to the Catholic faith and feel comfortable learning and living out Gospel values. Through seminars, coursework, faith sharing, retreats, and weekly spirituality nights teachers learn about the Catholic faith and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth's mission and charism.
Teaching Fellows must be interested in building relationships with urban youth, build your practice as a mentor, adviser and culturally responsive educator. You are excited by educational innovation and infusing faith into your classroom. You like planning with other members of a team. You are willing to co-teach and shadow with a master teacher.
HFSC Teaching Fellows will become highly competent with integrating technology into the classroom, becoming an advisor, will know how to collaborate, utilize a project-based approach, will learn how to adapt, be culturally relevant, learn how to embrace student led initiatives, and become lifelong learners.
HFSC Teaching Fellows commit to living simply in community on the Holy Family Campus in Emsworth, PA for the duration of the two years (excluding summers) in the program. They teach at Nazareth Prep during the week, attend classes at Duquesne University or Carlow University in the evenings and share once-a-week evening time with fellow members. New for 2023 is that the live-in option is not required.
