Camp Store Manager

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Trading Post Manager oversees all aspects relating to the organization and management of the summer camp store (trading post) and summer program office, including store inventory and organization, mail delivery, communication, and other tasks assigned by the program or summer camp director.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 20 years of age
  • Demonstrated ability to responsibly deal with people and basic accounting procedures relating to trading post management
  • Current driver’s license valid in the US
  • Role model for campers and staff on and off duty
  • Clear understanding and acceptance of the fundamental objectives and policies of Camp Woodstock and the Greater Hartford YMCA

PAY: $2,300 + room and board for 2 weeks staff training and 8 weeks of summer camp

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·        Administers the total operation of the camp store including the ordering of stock, managing of assistants, and balancing of camper store cards
·        Manages the camp program office including phone coverage, assisting the program director, sorting the mail, and directing the office assistants
·        Keeps the Program Office and the Trading Post room clean and orderly
·        Assists the administrative staff during check in and check out days
·        Manages the collecting and distribution of camp mail
·        Drives to laundry, stores, etc. as directed by the Summer Camp Director
·        Assists Program Director with evening programs
·        Assists in camp night supervision
·        Any other duties assigned by the Camp Director
