Data Scientist, Algorithm Engineer

The Digital Innovation team of WuXi STA is hiring a Data Scientist, Algorithm Engineer to contribute to digital transformations. Reporting to the leader of Digital Innovation – R&D team, you will work closely with our Data Analyst to discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and transform business requirements into product. You are responsible for performing data cleaning, developing ETL and building data warehouse. 
 
Job Location: Shanghai, China

Responsibilities

  • Explore diverse data sources and work closely with Data Analyst on data processing, including data validation, data curation, data visualization etc.
  • Apply machine learning, semantic analysis, statistical methods, etc. to find structure in large data sets.
  • Work in technical teams in development, deployment, and application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Work alongside vendors to translate algorithms into data services.
  • Analyze information acquired, compare solutions and weight them against the actual needs, propose appropriate analyzing technologies or informatics tools.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master or above degree in a data-related discipline (Data Science, Computer Science, Cheminformatics, etc.);
  • Expert knowledge of Python, R, SQL etc.;
  • Familiar with Linux system;
  • Expertise in data modeling and simulation;
  • Good communication skills and team player.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record in industrial, chemical, biotechnology business with big data or digital projects;
  • 3+ years’ experience in developing statistical models, machine learnings and carrying out complex quantitative analytics;
  • Knowledge of life science, Chemistry engineering is preferred;
  • Fluent in both written and oral English;
  • Passion to learn new technologies.
