Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning Intern

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Internship Eligibility Requirements
• 3.0+ GPA
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD on a full-time basis at a 4-year college or university
• Be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer
• Have at least 1 semester left (post-internship)
• Major, experience, or demonstrable interest in the position you apply for

In this exciting opportunity you will be working with the GAIA Team, which:
— is key in accelerating the execution of Ericsson's focused strategy by leveraging cutting edge AI and Automation technologies to create data driven, intelligent, and robust systems for automation, evolution, and growth.
— pursues research & development in the areas of machine learning (ML) with particular focus on deep learning (DL), computer vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and reinforcement learning (RL).
— Drives innovation in advanced areas such as federated learning, AI Security, Edge AI etc.
In this Role you will:
⎯ work on some of the most ambitious technical problems and develop new ML solutions that will impact future Ericsson's products
⎯ get hands-on experience while collaborating with some of the best minds in the industry. You will learn from them, but they expect to learn from you, too.
⎯ have the ability to influence and drive exciting, challenging projects
⎯ engage with the academic community by publishing your innovative research

The ideal candidate:
- is pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related areas
- whose research area is Reinforcement Learning and/or Machine Learning on the Edge
- if an undergraduate, an interest in Data Engineering
- has excellent programming skills in Java, Python, C/C++
- has knowledge of common ML frameworks
- thrives individually and as part of a team
- is expected to perform well in a fast-paced environment, execute on the tasks assigned, and meet production deadlines, while independently exploring new and innovative ideas
- Research experience with reinforcement learning is a plus
