Amazon Robotics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com, empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. Amazon Robotics automates fulfilment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas. 

The Operations Robotics Simulation Team at Amazon is seeking passionate and talented software development engineers and data scientists to help build out our suit of tools used to simulate and explore new robotic solutions. Our team is challenged with high impact projects, including the evaluation of creative ideas that will pave the way for the future of Amazon’s fulfillment and delivery network.

We’re developing web-based tools to automate execution and evaluation of discrete-event simulation experiments. If you’re looking to get hands-on experience utilizing AWS technologies such as EMR, Batch, Athena, Lambda and DynamoDB, this is the job for you. The ideal candidate has experience in front-end development using REACT and back-end development utilizing NodeJS. We are also looking for candidates with experience in data visualization to help us develop features for reporting and data interaction.


Basic Qualifications
·      Candidate for BS in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering with at least 3 years of experience.
·      Strong in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, HTML.
·      Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis.
·      Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
·      Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, CI/CD, agile development, build processes, testing and operations.

Preferred Qualifications
·      Experience in Web Frameworks preferably in React, NodeJS, WebPack or other JavaScript frameworks.
·      Courses in statistical analysis and data visualization.
·      Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
·      Experience with OpenGL, WebGL or gaming frameworks such as Unity.
