Responsibilities
- Carry out cutting-edge research in air-interface design including transceiver architecture development, modulation and waveform design, algorithms, and protocols for next generation mobile communication systems
- Perform literature surveys and summarize state-of-the-art in selected areas
- Drive tradeoff analysis of various transceiver topologies including power consumption estimation
- Evaluate design concepts using simulation, and/or theoretical analysis
- Provide reports and presentations on testing and design efforts
- Drive unit and link-level simulation efforts
- Support end-to-end system level simulation efforts
- Support behavioral and transistor level circuit simulation
Qualifications
- M.S., or Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering or related field (Ph.D. preferred)
- Experience in wireless communications principals:
- Modulation and coding
- Advanced waveforms
- PHY/MAC related to IEEE and/or 3GPP standards is a plus
- The successful candidate should be comfortable with the following concepts and toolsets:
- Phased antenna arrays and beamforming
- Receiver link budget analysis
- MATLAB and Simulink
- Familiarity with analog and digital modulation schemes for sub-THz radios is preferred, but not required
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to thrive in an innovative, dynamic, and research-oriented work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
