STRUCTURED PRODUCTS ANALYST
 
About the Firm:
Axonic is a multi-billion dollar investment firm based in New York City. Axonic focuses on structured credit instruments, including commercial mortgage backed securities and loans, non-agency residential mortgage backed securities, agency credit risk transfers, high yield, private debt, mortgage and real estate related credit and equities, and various single-name and index credit default swaps. We are seeking an analyst to join our investment team.
 
Analyst Role:
This role is intended to provide the analyst with an opportunity to develop an understanding of structured products and the underlying collateral, as well as to become acclimated with the pace of trading environment. Successful execution of the delineated responsibilities will create pathways to ascent. The analyst will assist traders and PMs in their day to day work, evaluate risks, and identify investment opportunities. They will be responsible for complex data analysis and providing insight into market behavior of securities, loans, derivatives and other complex financial instruments. The analyst will also develop and maintain models in partnership with a team of investment professionals to monitor, analyze and manage our portfolio. Further, analysts are responsible for the development and maintenance of infrastructure for pricing and risk management of investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support of analytical tools to help the investment team with daily trading activities, investment valuation and risk management
  • Analyze market data to develop surveillance reports which monitor collateral and transaction performance
  • Assist in the analysis and modeling of investment opportunities
  • Streamline processes by incorporating automation in our existing infrastructure
 
Basic Qualifications
  • Academic background in any of the relevant fields - Statistics, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science
  • Information Technology skills such as database management using SQL, machine learning techniques and data analysis using R, STATA, PYTHON and proficiency in Excel with VBA integration
  • Candidate required to exhibit assiduousness, initiative, attention to detail, a low error tolerance and a high standard of excellence
  • Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing
  • Must be capable of operating within a stressful, deadline driven environment while prioritizing issues appropriately and maintaining a strict attention to detail.
