Business Operations Manager Intern

Job Overview
MCG is looking for a Business Operations Manager (MBA intern) for Summer 2021 to help build, manage, and streamline business processes and operations across multiple functional groups in one of our portfolio companies. The MCG portfolio company, where the ideal candidate will work, is a software and hardware business that helps customers to effectively manage safety, security, compliance, and productivity. 
Business Operations Manager responsibilities include tracking business results, performing cost-benefit analyses and monitoring operations KPIs across functional teams. To be a successful Business Operations Manager (MBA Intern), you should demonstrate great leadership and communication skills and be able to communicate the vision of the company across all levels and manage vertically and horizontally.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the current gaps in operations across functional teams using an Operating Model framework
  • Benchmark competitors and analogous companies to identify “best-in-class” operational model for a small tech-company
  • Collaborate with the executive team to build operating playbooks for each functional team (i.e. HR, Sales, Engineering, etc.) based on industry research and legacy processes that were effective
  • Ensure all functional teams operate smoothly and align with MCG’s quality standards
  • Maximize the efficiency of all business procedures
  • Collaborate with CEO to establish OKRs and KPIs for each functional team 
  • Monitor daily operations and address potential issues when they arise
Requirements
  • Previous experience in consulting, or in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of operations management
  • Currently pursuing an MBA
  • Experience with financial modeling 
  • Experience with databases and project management software
  • The ability to interpret financial data and allocate budgets
  • Exceptional communication skills
