Grad Intern – R&D (Therapeutic Discovery – Computational and Data Sciences)

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will work at the interface of machine learning and chemistry, developing and applying new computational tools for molecular property prediction.
- Rigorously evaluate machine learning methodologies for molecular simulation
- Collaborate with machine learning and molecular modeling teams
- Develop understanding of strengths and drawbacks of multiple simulation methods
- Document and report research progress
- Communicate results to research teams

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Currently enrolled in a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of Master’s OR PhD program before internship starts
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Degree concentration(s) in Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields
Knowledge of machine learning and a basic understanding of molecular dynamics/statistical mechanics principles
Familiarity with molecular dynamics simulation software (Desmond, AMBER, GROMACS, OpenMM, or others)
Familiarity with Python and data science/machine learning tools (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or others)
