Multimedia Production Assistant

The Multimedia Production Assistant will support the Senior Creative Media Producer in all aspects of video, still image, and audio production and post-production. Will be responsible for creating artfully communicative still, video, and audio content of the utmost aesthetic and communicative quality. The incumbent’s work will be of sufficiently high quality to post on government and corporate websites and be incorporated into multi-media presentations and interactive educational materials.

Provides assistance and guidance to designers, writers, and other IDA staff on media issues and works with outside vendors on specific assignments. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Records, edits, compresses, and delivers video, audio and still photography for small events and meetings
  • Assists with all aspects of multimedia production and post-production for events, scripted videos, training materials, podcasts, interviews, multimedia, traditional web and social media
  • Employs digital production equipment to acquire and manipulate video imagery; produces and edits video for delivery to research sponsors and presented in the most high-level government briefings
  • Manually caption videos for 508 compliance
  • Provides assistance and guidance to IDA staff members to develop quality approaches to addressing media and communications challenges
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What Will You Need?
  • Bachelors of Fine Arts degree and 3 years of experience preferred. High School diploma or equivalent and five or more years progressively responsible work experience in video, film, professional photography, or audio production
  • Proficiency with professional and “prosumer” video and audio recording and editing equipment, including video cameras, SLR cameras, and electronic news gathering field audio mics and equipment
  • Proficient with the following software applications: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder, HTML, and other professionally recognized applications, or equivalents; capable of working in both a PC and Mac environment
  • Demonstrated ability to record live or staged events independently
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experienced in video and still photography production, to include lighting, sound, and camera operation
  • Experienced in the use of traditional and digital photograph and video enhancement techniques, including cropping, keying, resizing, basic compositing, and titles
  • Demonstrated ability to follow prescribed procedures in a timely and accurate manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
