DevOps Engineer

Job Description


Your Career

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be working in our IT Infra SRE team on cloud orchestration and automation tools like Terraform and Ansible. The team consists of DevOps Engineers focused primarily on building automation pipeline, monitoring, DB performance tuning, and DBA activities, etc. We also have a full-time Principal Windows Engineer working on Windows automation using Ansible.        

Some examples of past Intern projects:

  • Using python create application-specific monitors in Datadog
  • Build tools to detect passwords in source code repos 
  • Using python create network automation and monitoring scripts
  • Develop and deploy automation pipelines for serverless apps
  • Develop security scanning tools - penetration testing and OSS vul checking
  • Implement DevSecOps practice by creating Jenkins & CircleCI pipeline for Docker builds
  • Network CI/CD approval framework - script to create and populate a change request in ServiceNow

Your Impact

  • Exposure to learning advanced Terraform and Ansible for orchestration and configuration management
  • Overall experience with Systems deployment, config management, and operations
  • Ability to code in Python (advanced scripting as part of Network automation)
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
  • Ability to analyze and redesign business process workflows

Qualifications


Your Experience

  • Computer science or Electrical engineering preferred
  • Proficiency in Python, Go or Bash
  • Strong knowledge of Linux - CentOS, Ubuntu
  • Experience with Nginx, Kubernetes, Istio,
  • Infrastructure as Code - Terraform, Ansible, Git, Puppet
  • Knowledge of building docker containers
  • Working knowledge of Load Balancers, FW and networking
  • Exposure to Public Cloud Platforms - GCP (preferred), AWS

The Team

IT Infra SRE Team is responsible for improving the availability, reliability, and performance of IT applications hosted in GCP, AWS, and on-prem. SRE team’s goal is to fully automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment pipelines using Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform.
