Job Description
Insight Economics is hiring a new analyst for January 2023! The new analyst will work on a consulting team that focuses on expert witness litigation and business valuation services. For the expert witness litigation practice, the team calculates economic damages for defamation, trademark, and copyright cases. The analyst will be responsible for reviewing complaints and building models to calculate economic damages. For business valuation services, the analyst will assist the team in building financial models.

Our analysts will have the opportunity to work directly with the two associates of the team, and work on a variety of economic and valuation-related engagements in the contexts of litigation and business consulting. Successful Analysts take pride in their work, are proactive and independent thinkers, and have an overall good-natured personality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform company valuations using traditional valuation methodologies (DCF, comparable companies, and relief from royalty).
  • Gather and compile facts as it relates to legal proceedings (Complaints, Depositions, etc.).
  • Conduct market research to identify comparable license transactions.
  • Contribute in the development of presentations, demonstratives, expert economic and financial reports, and other client deliverables

Qualifications
Analysts should be well-rounded with outstanding analytical skills and a desire to grow professionally within the economic and financial consulting fields. We are especially interested in individuals who can work efficiently with team members from remote locations – and therefore have strong communication skills and have the ability and a desire to utilize technology to create an efficient working environment. Other requirements include:
  • Degree preferably in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum Major and Overall 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and ability to learn SharePoint online.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with large data sets.
  • Capable of working under tight timelines set by courts and clients.
  • Prior internship experience is a plus.
  • Position available immediately.
  • Relocation to San Diego.
