Data Science Intern
As a Data Science Intern, you will apply statistical theory and methods to collect, interpret, and summarize data as well as make predictions and recommend actions based on data at a basic level. You will be involved with testing new ideas, debugging, and refactoring existing models. You will take responsibility for your code while striving to improve code quality and impact.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and program methods, processes, and systems to analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources to generate actionable insights, predictions and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
• Create data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
• Research and apply knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques.
• Use statistical analysis and programming (SAS, SPSS, R, Python, etc.) to manage and analyze large data sets.
• Interact with business to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
• Develop and code software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
• Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources. Conduct statistical analyses to develop strategies.
