Smart Home Sourcing & Production Assistant
Job Description
Located in Downtown Manhattan, we are a fast-paced smart-home, tech accessories and lighting decor company that sells & distributes to major retailers. We are looking for a product sourcing & production specialist who is highly organized, goal driven, self-motivated, analytical, processing strong communication skills, and an ability to Multi-task. Experience with project management, product sourcing, smart home industry, or app based products is preferred. Experience with manufacturing or import from Asia is preferred.
Responsibilities:
· Work closely with the Category Manager in developing innovative new products.
· Maintain master price lists and compile product specifications information
· Manage ordering of new products including factory setup and initiating factory purchases
· Communicate daily by email and messaging with multiple factories for sourcing, samples, pricing, payment terms, deliveries, etc.
· Submit necessary product certifications and approvals to third party sites and licensors
· Conduct market research to develop new products
· Collaborate with graphic design team for packaging and presentations
· Communicate with sales team regarding new products in development
· Follow up on product and design requests from customers
· Trouble-shooting challenges with realistic and creative solutions
· Create presentation sheets for new products for all teams as needed.
Required Skills:
· Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
· Knowledge of SAP by Design a plus
· Effective written and oral communications
· Strong, consistent problem-solving abilities
· Sourcing and merchandising experience preferred.
· Flexibility while working on multiple projects simultaneously
· Experience working with and communicating with Chinese factories.
· Ability to work with cross functional teams, including design, product development and purchasing
