Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Install, configure databases, and setup automations for maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot database issues
  • Help improve performance of applications by tuning database queries and identifying design improvements
  • Debug, fix, and write scripts for various tasks
  • Work with external vendors to resolve issues and promote process improvement
  • Support application revisions - review schema changes, implement them, participate in performance testing after those changes
  • Export/Import data as requested by Application Support teams
  • Collaborate with groups that handles activities like: Capacity Planning, Storage, System Administration, Information Security, Networking, Middleware, Testing, Production Management, Auditing, and many others

Qualifications
Must have:
  • Problem solving skills
  • General programming skills
  • Ability to navigate Linux from the command line
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • General understanding of database concepts
  • Network fundamentals
  • Scripting and coding experience
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of Cloud computing
  • Exposure to Big Data concepts
  • Experience with technologies such as: Python, Ansible, Oracle, Postgres
