Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Install, configure databases, and setup automations for maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot database issues
- Help improve performance of applications by tuning database queries and identifying design improvements
- Debug, fix, and write scripts for various tasks
- Work with external vendors to resolve issues and promote process improvement
- Support application revisions - review schema changes, implement them, participate in performance testing after those changes
- Export/Import data as requested by Application Support teams
- Collaborate with groups that handles activities like: Capacity Planning, Storage, System Administration, Information Security, Networking, Middleware, Testing, Production Management, Auditing, and many others

Qualifications
Must have:
- Problem solving skills
- General programming skills
- Ability to navigate Linux from the command line
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- General understanding of database concepts
- Network fundamentals
- Scripting and coding experience
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Cloud computing
- Exposure to Big Data concepts
- Experience with technologies such as: Python, Ansible, Oracle, Postgres
