Role
MacKay’s investments team (largely focused on fixed income) has been steadily growing both in terms of assets under management and complexity. In order to maximize our ability to add value and partner in the growth of our business, the Enterprise Business Service team is looking for a candidate to oversee and help manage operational functions while also focusing on value add initiatives such as subject matter expertise, process improvement & documentation, project management, and leadership.
We are seeking an individual with a solid understanding of buy side functions and products, with a focus on management, oversight, team development and operational excellence. The candidate will need to be able to apply these skills appropriately to an organization with the size and scale of Mackay Shields.
Responsibilities
· Understand concepts & workflows related to fund reconciliation, maintaining accurate books and records, corporate actions, portfolio performance, trade lifecycle
· Escalation and communication on projects, aged items, risks, errors or process improvement
· Deep understanding of Investment Accounting systems and records, for complex assets and fixed income securities (mortgages, loans, FX forwards, future, corp bonds)
· Provide guidance, organization and structure to ensure high quality service to investment teams and stakeholders
· Sustain a solid control environment with on-shore and off-shore resources
· Set, plan, organize and execute team and department goals
· Managing internal department projects and enhancements
· Effectively communicate with senior members at banks, admins, and agents. Building and leveraging relationships
· Modernize and Scale tasks related to recon, fund accounting, system accounting
Requirements / Skills
· Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
· 5+ years of recent experience with Investment Operations, specifically in team management and strategic vision
· 10+ years of recent experience working in financial services support teams
· Understanding of post execution, reconciliation, derivatives, corporate actions, investment accounting systems for fixed income products

· Experience and comfort dealing directly with clients, investment teams, and other senior stakeholders
