Logistics Development Associate

LOGISTICS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Job Summary
The Logistics Development Program (LDP) provides an accelerated training program for college graduates who have an ability to excel in today's Supply Chain environment. The program will provide you with exposure to the various facets of Supply Chain within a diverse Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organization and an opportunity to develop into a future Supply Chain leader. The LDP will build on your skill-set by providing exposure to experienced professionals and various areas of Supply Chain including: Sales and Operations Planning, Transportation and Warehousing, Customer Supply Chain and the Project Management Organization. You will report into a Supply Chain Manager throughout the program.

The Program is structured to last approximately 24-36 months and will allow for growth and individual development opportunities. You will rotate through three Supply Chain functions during your time in the program. These rotations will vary based on your industry experience, career aspirations, and business need.

Position Responsibilities
  • Generate forecasts for assigned product categories using inputs from all available sources
  • Analyze the statistical forecast and execute changes as necessary
  • Collaborate with marketing and finance on monthly consensus volumes and translate those volumes to lower levels to finalize volume mix
  • Develop future demand plans that drive supply chain planning processes
  • Assign shipments to preferred carriers using transportation management system
  • Organize and consolidate truckloads to provide economical rates and high-performance levels
  • Monitor deliveries, assisting carriers in resolving issues and communicating to appropriate parties, as necessary
  • Analyze existing shipping processes for improvements and provide support for various implementation plans
  • Develop and manage project timelines
  • Assist with driving supply chain agenda with strategic customers
  • Provide leadership, and resolution, to the company and customers on Supply Chain issues

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Leadership experience
  • Financial knowledge (i.e. budget management, cost driver understanding)
  • Ability to react to daily situations without losing sight of strategy
  • Desire to grow within our Supply Chain department
  • Ability to relocate and travel up to 10%
