Junior Research Scientist – Interest in Sensor Fusion

Applied Research Associates, Inc. We want you to apply if you have experience in software development and would like to work in any of the following areas: sensor fusion and data analytics; systems integration using lower-level programming languages; signal processing and filtering; artificial intelligence and computer vision; rapid prototype development and deployment. You will be working on developing and evaluating prototype systems that process sensor data to solve multi-disciplinary problems. This may include building pipelines that receive data from a variety of sensors, such as inertial measurement units (IMU), GPS receivers, EO/IR cameras, unmanned aerial vehicles, smartphones, and laser measurement devices. You will gain expertise in rapidly developing sensor fusion prototypes using low- and high-level programming languages with a variety of input and output formats. Other responsibilities may include assisting in the preparation of oral and written reports, supporting R&D business acquisition and customer briefings, presenting research results at scientific / engineering conferences, and publish in technical journals.

Junior Research Scientist – Interest in Sensor Fusion Required Experience & Skills:
  • US Citizenship (applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information)
  • Bachelor of Science degree or above in a related discipline (computer science, mathematics, physics, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, etc.) and 2+ years of experience
  • Strong foundation in software development
  • Proficiency in one of the following areas: signal processing, mathematics, physics, computer vision, or optimization with 2+ years relevant work experience
