H&R Block Data Science Summer Intern
H&R Block, the world’s leader in tax preparation services, is looking for exceptional undergraduate and graduate students for our 2022 Summer Internship in Data Science. Our interns will work at our corporate headquarters in Kansas City, MO, in the heart of the downtown Power & Light entertainment district. Due to ongoing pandemic concerns, we may offer remote options for interested candidates. What you’ll do…
As a Data Scientist intern, you will join the Data Science & Analytics department, which houses teams focused on machine learning, analytics, data engineering, pricing, reporting, and information governance. You will work side-by-side with other Data Scientists to solve problems for our customers and associates; to organize, analyze, and interpret data from throughout the enterprise; to develop and deploy statistical models; and to visualize data in ways that tell a compelling story. You will work with large and unique data sets, using a cutting-edge analytics technology stack.
Summer interns will work on a full-time basis for 8-10 weeks beginning the first week in June. Throughout the summer program, interns will have the opportunity to connect with senior leadership, collaborate with other interns, and attend a variety of professional and social events.

What you’ll bring to the internship…
• Interest or experience in a quantitative field, such as computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, or statistics
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently while contributing to the success of the team
• Highly motivated, organized, reliable, and detailed-oriented
• Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to explain complex solutions to non-technical peers
• Quick learner and not afraid to work with data using SQL, R, Python or cutting-edge data visualization tools
• Ability to be effective and contribute in a fast-paced corporate environment
