- Your challenge
- As part of Danahers STEM iDEAS program, which offers 2 x one year rotational placements followed by a 6 month project (2.5 years in total, starting July 2022), IDBS is seeking a Data Scientist to help us to create data science and analytics solutions that deliver relevant insights. Our ideal team member will have the mathematical and statistical expertise as well as a natural curiosity and creativity. The candidate should help creating solutions to mine, interpret, clean, analyze and visualize scientific. You will work in a dynamic Data Science team creating solutions for science for your first year, with flexibility upon department rotation for Year 2.
- In this role, you will:
- Help the Data Science team in implementing data analytics solutions for customers and preparing demos.
- Help in identifying customer needs, propose solutions, and assist in all aspects from inception through delivery.
- Conceptualize, test and prototype data science solutions
- Collect real and synthetic data to design and demo data science solutions
- Collect structured and unstructured data to solve the problems by connecting/accessing to multiple IDBS’s technologies as well as external databases and systems.
- Analyse data for trends and patterns and to find answers to specific questions
- Create visualizations of data in Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire or similar tools.
- Your Education and/or Background Experience will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM, or related field
- Biology and chemistry knowledge desirable
- We are looking for a professional who has:
- Basic knowledge in using Machine Learning and AI methodologies
- Solid knowledge of math, probability and statistics
- Basic knowledge of Python
- Basic understanding of data structures and data modeling
