The Data Specialist will have the opportunity to:
  • Evaluate and analyze market and industry costs, supply, demand, utilization, strategic sourcing, procurement trends, and business process improvement initiatives of major interest to the DGS Procurement Division
  • Plan, develop, and conduct extensive research projects to recognize improvement opportunities to ensure efficiency of procurement processes
  • Develop research questions, determine, and implement appropriate data collection methods, research methodology, and reporting procedures for major and ad-hoc research projects and program evaluations
  • Represent DGS at meetings and conferences with suppliers, private sector executives, DGS Executive Staff and managers, as well as staff from state, federal, and local government agencies, or organizations
