Global Sourcing (Supply Chain) Intern, Summer 2022

POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the analysis of the existing purchasing projects as well as assist in the evaluation of potential business development opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analysis Function
- Perform business unit and financial analysis
- Relate profitability, input costs, and strategic planning
- Utilize Tableau to analyze and design procurement data visualizations
Special Projects
- Apply LEAN methodologies to design and implement improvement initiatives
- Design and implementation of key business projects
- Conduct research on commodities and trends
- Analyzing research results – both quantitatively and qualitatively, in written and presentation form
- Formulating a recommendation based upon your analysis
- Properly documenting and supporting your research and analysis
- Develop materials for internal and external meetings
Other Frequent Duties:
- Collection of published data related to commodity trading
- Assembly of market intelligence from industry professionals
- Assist with the coordination of inbound raw materials
- Verify data integrity with suppliers
Perform other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher – Ag Business, or Business related degree
**Senior or Junior status required
Experience Required: Financial analysis and analytical business experience preferred
**Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred
Skills Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
- Advanced math, finance, and accounting skills
- Strong analytical research
Special skills or knowledge preferred:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in data analysis
