Barings Analyst Program - Real Estate Debt
- The Analyst Program within real estate is designed to provide junior professionals the opportunity to learn about public and private commercial real estate investment and finance through working closely with senior professionals. The Analyst Program includes assisting in underwriting and analyzing potential acquisitions/originations including cash flow projections; gathering and evaluating economic, demographic and real estate market data; reviewing legal documents and other materials to assist in the due diligence process; providing analytical and modeling support to analyst and management and actively participating in training and team-building activities.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree preferably with a finance or real estate emphasis
- Students in final year with planned graduation of May/June 2022
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
- Investment analysis experience
- Solid analytical and quantitative background; experience modeling financial data
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in Argus a plus
- Excellent writing and communications skills and ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction oriented team
- Self-starter; must be organized and able to work independently
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines
- Ability to travel with overnight stay required at times
Goals of the Analyst Program:
- For the Analyst - To gain experience that will allow junior professionals to:
- Gain a better understanding of public and private commercial real estate investment and finance
- Develop proficiency in modeling, financial analysis, and business writing
- Develop skills, professionalism, and experience that will translate into future roles with greater responsibility whether at Barings or another firm
- For the Firm - To train junior professionals such that they are able to provide leverage to senior professionals while utilizing them in a manner such that high performers will want to remain with the firm in roles of increased responsibility
