Intern - Performance Analytics and Diagnostics- Summer 2022

The Main Responsibilities


As a Performance/Diagnostics intern in our Strategic Planning and Transformation you would be part of a network software development team that builds and operates in-house diagnostics and performance monitoring solutions for Lumen Enterprise network. The core expertise is at the crossroads of software development, big data and network operations. The team deals with millions of data points a second, large databases, building APIs etc. As an intern with the organization some of your responsibilities could include developing code/tools/data analytics related to the network performance monitoring. 

The ideal intern will have technical skills with common languages in the industry. You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions and work in a team environment.
-  Support all facets of the software development life cycle in a scaled agile framework environment
-  Build enhancements for critical platforms and applications that support Service Assurance and Provisioning
-  Assist with the design, develop, test and deployment stages 
-  Enhance user experience aspects of the platforms


What We Look For in a Candidate


Education Requirements 
o   Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – May 2023.
o   Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical degree field.

Proficiency and understanding of
o   Java, SQL, C/C++, SQL, Jupyter and/or Python

Professional Attributes 
o   Strong drive for results and taking initiative
o   Ability to be resourceful and adaptable
o   Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions
o   Strong written and verbal communication skills
o   Ability to interact with business partners
o   Flexible and adapts well to change

Work Setting
o   Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield -CO, Littleton-CO. May consider remote/ work from home.
o   Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
o   Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
o   US work authorization
