Private Equity Summer Intensive Analyst
The Falfurrias Capital Summer Intensive is a 2-3 week internship program held at the firm’s Charlotte office. The program is designed for rising seniors with an interest in private equity and provides the opportunity to complete two internships in one summer – one at Falfurrias and one at another firm – with the potential to receive a full-time Private Equity Analyst offer at the conclusion of the program. This is a unique opportunity to gain direct experience on a private equity investment team and have exposure to a wide range of activities including new deal evaluation, deal execution, portfolio company analysis, and industry research. The job responsibilities could include the items below and others:
- Review incoming pitch books, critically analyze investment opportunities, and provide investment recommendations for firm review
- Assist Falfurrias Analysts and Associates with due diligence efforts and provide critical analysis used to inform Falfurrias investment decisions
- Utilize Excel to spread and analyze financials, evaluate datasets, and identify significant takeaways
- Support Falfurrias principals on new deal execution and portfolio initiatives
- Drive industry-specific market research supporting the firm’s “Industry First” investment strategy
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is currently in their junior year of college (Class of 2023). The opportunity is structured so that those who have accepted a summer 2022 internship offer or plan to pursue a summer 2022 internship can complete another internship in addition to this one. We plan to have the internship take place during the second half of May but are willing to be flexible around other internship obligations. Qualifications:
- Class of 2023
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
- Preferably Business/Economics majors
- Interested in a career in private equity
- Expertise in using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
