The Nuclear Process Infrastructure Division (NPI) at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking intelligent, capable, and inquisitive candidates with a broad scientific background and a mastery of data science and related skills. We are currently offering competitively paid graduate research appointments at the post-masters level for eligible candidates. Successful candidates will work in an independent fashion, employing a variety of techniques to analyze operational data related to environmental stewardship. Successful candidates will build data tools, identify opportunities for improvement, produce succinct and convincing communications, and help us ensure that our processes are maximally efficient while remaining safe and compliant with all applicable regulations.
The term of the appointment is 1 to 2 years; depending on the candidate’s performance and the institutional funding availability, there are opportunities to extend the appointment by transitioning to other types of LANL positions. This position is intended as a pipeline for US Department of Energy National Laboratories, therefore eligibility for a security clearance is a requirement for this position.
