Sr. Compensation Analyst

Job Description: 
The Sr. Compensation Analyst manages the development, implementation and maintenance of compensation/classification policies and programs in concert with HR leadership. The incumbent administers pay structures, analyzes, and recommends compensation and workforce planning to ensure system sustainability and effectiveness. This position proactively contributes to creating and maintaining Gonzaga University as a welcoming environment for all through program development, best practices, and compliance monitoring​.
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • ​​​​​​Four (4) or more years’ conducting compensation analysis and reporting. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgeting processes with experience tracking, analyzing and assessing impact of compensation expenses to the overall sustainability of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups or work teams and to explain (technical, financial, etc.) issues​ and deliver challenging messages in a positive and influential manner.
  • Demonstrated technical skills including:
  • ​​Experience with an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and/or Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency to manipulate, interpret, and analyze compensation data. Proficiency with data analysis tools
  • Gathering structured data from applications and data warehouses​
  • Experience with large relational databases, data warehousing and data marts​
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
Desired Qualifications: 
  • ​Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or other applicable certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite
  • Proficiency with SQL programming language in relational database environment to write, edit, and maintain SQL queries
  • Experience using higher education ERP systems, and talent management software-as-a-service.
  • Higher education compensation experience.
