Intelligence Research Specialist

The incumbent works in support of a team that is responsible for performing a broad range of analytical and short-suspense assignments involving economic, financial, and all-source intelligence analysis on the structure and operations of foreign terrorist groups, WMD proliferators, criminal and rogue regime networks, or other entities posing a threat to US national security to assess their vulnerabilities, and the application or impact of Treasury authorities used to target them.
Associated duties include identifying new and pertinent material for the files and for recognizing the need to call to the attention of their superiors important new information which may suggest the necessity for further examination or study; developing products that contribute to larger studies; considering actual and potential problems; reconciling occasionally conflicting data sources; collaborating with Intelligence Community counterparts on issues and products where high level intervention is not anticipated; and providing verbal, written, and graphical presentation of results to Treasury, Intelligence Community, U.S. Government interagency, and foreign government audiences.
The incumbent may attend Intelligence Community and interagency meetings in the assigned functional or geographical area, and may be required to travel both domestically and abroad. He or she maintains relevant on-going contacts with other agencies and offices, both domestic and foreign, pursuant to the duties outlined above and in support of OIA's mission.
