Research and Development Associate (Biology/Chemistry related)

JOB TITLE: Research and Development Associate
SALARY: $61,000 - $75,000 per year
RESPONSIBLE TO: Development Manager
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Conduct enzyme immunoassay (EIA) research and handle development projects to obtain FDA 510(k) clearance and CLIA categorizations to bring new products to market
* Additional duties may be added as the need arises
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Prepare drug conjugates for immunoassay development
- Conduct immunoassay optimizations
- Proficiently work on a variety of clinical analyzers
- Analyze and interpret data; record methods and results using good documentation practices
- Prepare and present technical data summaries for design review and regulatory submission
- Present and explain project results at team and project meetings
- Effectively organize, prioritize, and plan experiment/work schedule
- Assist in the transfer of completed development projects to Production
- Participate in, and provide support to, Production team through hands-on troubleshooting and regular communication

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry related field or equivalent (2+ years of R&D laboratory experience)
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational and documentation behavior
- Proficient with Internet/e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs are required
- Able to work in a cold room periodically, which is kept at 2 – 8°C (35.6 – 46.4°F)
* After hiring, required to provide a vaccination record and confirm current Hepatitis B status and COVID-19 vaccination status
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge and experience with immunoassay research
INTERVIEW PRESENTATION:
- All candidates must give a brief PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation detailing their graduate level thesis work and/or R&D laboratory research
- 25-30 minute presentation, 10-15 minute Q&A (Total: 35-45 minutes)
