Position Description
Conduct investment analysis including industry, company, and security analysis on assigned companies and/or industries. This includes monitoring individual companies and related industries for financial updates, industry news or events and other relevant information related to portfolio investments. Review and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data and synthesize research work-product into well-informed, accurate and thoughtful analysis and updates for investment team senior staff. This is an opportunity to join a buy side firm and work directly with senior level investment professionals.
Essential Functions
1) RESEARCH. Under the direction of senior staff, conduct high yield and leveraged loan fixed income research on industries and companies as assigned including financial analysis, projections and recommendations. Present work product in oral and written form to analysts and Portfolio Managers.
2) PORTFOLIO MONITORING. Monitor individual companies and related industries for financial updates, industry updates, merger and acquisition activity and any other relevant information related to portfolio investments. Ensure this information is kept current at all times and keep investment team senior staff apprised of significant and relevant developments.
3) Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.
Requirements
Current undergraduate senior status (graduating in 2022 and available for summer/fall 2022 start). Interest in financial markets, investing and/or relevant coursework (finance and accounting) preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have a desire to join a high performance, fast-paced culture.
This position is in Los Angeles.
