Multiple PhD R&D Opportunities
Americas Lubricants Technology - Houston, TX
R&D Product Development - Lubes & Spec:
- Penultimate PhD student (at least one semester remaining prior to graduation after completion of internship) from relevant technical discipline.
- Strong track record in delivering high quality technical R&D. Curiosity, willingness and ability to quickly pick up new topics and shape a new program independently.
- Experienced in designing and executing small research projects, confident in handling large data sets.
- Strong communication skills, including presentations to diverse audiences, writing and publishing technical journal articles.
- Ability to work with a diverse, global team.
- Strongly preferred, but not required: specific knowledge in lubricants related research (such as tribology, rheology, surface & colloid science, hardware testing).
- Experience in numerical analysis and mathematical modelling as a secondary skill is a plus.
- Experience in working on programs at the interface between academia and industry is a plus.
Research/Specialization:
- PhD in Lubrication Science (Tribology, Rheology), Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
Computer Science & Digital Innovation Artificial Intelligence - Houston, TX
R&D Math, Comp & Data Science:
- Earlier Year PhD (3 or more semesters prior to graduation)
- Required Skills: Machine Learning, Deep learning, strong Python programming
- Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), software app development, Web UI development a plus
Research/Specialization:
- PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Computer Science & Digital Innovation Artificial Intelligence - Houston, TX

- Experience in time dependent series pattern recognition and learning, uncertainty quantification a plus

R&D Chemistry:
- Penultimate PhD student (at least one semester remaining prior to graduation after completion of internship) from relevant technical discipline.
- Understanding and experience with electrochemistry and batteries.
- Knowledge of Development of "next-generation" lithium batteries; large-scale grid storage batteries; product cost calculations; energy storage applications a plus

Minimum Qualifications:
- To be eligible for an Internship, you should be an actively enrolled student who will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship.
- You must have a minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.20.
- Candidates for U.S. positions must be a U.S. citizen or national, an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee, asylee, temporary resident, or an individual who possesses valid work authorization. Individuals with temporary visas (H1, H2, J1, F1, etc) or who require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire.
- In some instances, we are able to sponsor Ph.D. candidates in the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Physics, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Geosciences, Computer Science, Materials Science, Research & Development. In some cases, we are able to sponsor Master’s level candidates in Geoscience ONLY.
