Data Analyst Intern

About our group:

The Consumer Solutions Group’s Product Line Manager Team carefully reviews market trends and user interaction for storage devices and value-added software. The team includes Product Managers, UX Designers, Documentation Writers/Editors and Data Scientists. The telemetry we receive from our software is critical to all members of the team since it is highly leveraged for decision-making with current and future products. 

About the role - you will:

The Data Analyst Intern will help maintain and build out the analytics capabilities for the Consumer Solutions Group. The position will collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data in Amazon Web Services Redshift, Oracle and other databases. The position will also help produce reports and analyze using Looker, our business intelligence and data analytics platform. The ideal candidate will have the basic understanding of gathering data, clean up, aggregation, analysis and insights. They should have experience with data storage, cleanup and manipulation technologies like SQL or Excel. Responsibilities could include one or more of the following: 
  • Verify and validate the data collected from our software products using SQL 
  • Create data visualizations or modify existing reports using Looker 
  • Help maintain our existing data infrastructure and assist in performance improvement initiatives 
  • Assist in improving our data collection infrastructure using Boomi – our iPaaS Platform (Integration Platform as a Service) 
  • Analyze Drive Health with Machine Learning to allow Predictive Analysis to anticipate Drive Failure 
  • Work with internal teams to modify existing or create new telemetry for our software products 

About you:

  • Current student returning to school in Fall 2022 
  • Candidates pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science or Data Science are preferred, but open to related fields 
  • Analytical and data driven mindset 
  • Attention to detail and documented, repeatable processes 
  • Knowledgeable in data storage, data cleanup and data manipulation techniques 
  • Direct experience with SQL 
  • Familiarity with programming languages (C, C++, Python) 
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning / AI and Predictive Analysis 
  • Experience with Looker, Alteryx or KNIME are a plus
