Research Data Specialist I
Under general direction of the Research Data Supervisor I, the Research Data Specialist I (RDS I) collects, compiles, analyzes, and interprets complicated Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) data regarding various MH and SUD programs and claiming processes. This position is intended to be a resource needed to implement the comprehensive set of proposals that encompass DHCS’s California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) initiative. Major functions include: development of appropriate methodologies and study protocols to accomplish the Data Management and Analytics Division (DMAD), Behavioral Health and Analytics Research Branch (BHARB), Analytics and Research Method Section’s evaluation and quality assurance objectives; designing and conducting highly complex statistical analyses to inform decision making for DMAD; collaborate with internal/external teams on advanced analytical projects; and, communicate findings of statistical analyses to various audiences. This position requires a journey level mastery of statistical and data presentation software including but not limited to SAS, Excel, SQL, and Arc GIS.
