Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) is seeking a Technology Management Administrator to lead our team supporting the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). The DoIT Team at IDHS is leading a transformation to modernize the way citizens interact with the State of Illinois agency responsible for providing a wide variety of services to Illinois residents. The DoIT team at IDHS is seeking to hire a candidate with strong technical and people skills to serve as the Technology Management Administrator. The Technology Management Administrator is responsible for managing technical staff that supports IDHS’s information technology architecture, infrastructure, accessible technology, and database management. The successful candidate will need to be highly analytical, professional, communicate effectively, and possess excellent organizational skills. We invite qualified candidates to join our professional IT team as we transform technology for the State of Illinois!
 

Job Responsibilities
  1. Serves as Senior Analyst in the Data Support Unit. Performs complex professional and advisory functions for the Data Support Unit. Coordinates the activities of Human Services program databases. Conducts complex analyses of program applications and performance to maintain and/or improve overall performance of the program applications. Confers with manager to verify activities are consistent with department priorities. Restores database tables from backups in case of emergencies.
  2. Provides IBM Replication version upgrade and maintenance. Conducts and coordinates analysis of data and processes supporting departmental activities and programs; designs or implements data architecture using data modeling software and DB2 software designs, utilizes Data Replication Center Software to maintain the relational database model which fits the strategic goals of the business and department as related to an integrated data architecture.
  3. Performs AIX automation maintenance and support. Coordinates the activities of AIX. Conducts and coordinates complex analyses of program applications and performance to maintain and/or improve the overall performance of the program applications. Confers with manager to verify activities are consistent with department priorities.
  4. Assists with DB2 LUW SQL tuning and daily tasks. Conducts and coordinates complex analyses of software tuning and performance to maintain and/or improve the overall performance of the program applications. Confers with manager to verify activities are consistent with department priorities.
 

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and skill equivalent to four (4) years college with coursework in computer science.
Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in IBM DB2 LUW.
Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience working with DB2 databases, Replication Center, SQL Tuning and Backups, and Restoring tablespaces on AIX. Must have strong analytical skills and good communication skills both orally and in writing.
