EMD Research Fellow- The Carbon Footprint in China and its Economic Impact

FELLOWSHIP TOPIC
The Emerging Markets Sovereign team is looking for a graduate student for the summer of 2022 to be based in Shanghai to work on the following topic: The Carbon Transition in China and Its Economic Impact The main objective of this role is to map the carbon transition policy and objectives in China and understand its economic impact on both China and other countries. After laying down the policy, the fellow should study the impact on macro variables in China in terms of growth rate, jobs creation, fiscal implications, balance of payments implications, etc. The fellow will then analyse the different sectors and explain how those policies will affect existing sectors and emerging ones. The fellow will then review the international implications of those policies on commodities and other products supply and demand dynamics.
SKILLS
The candidate should have training in macroeconomics and econometrics / statistics with good understanding of China policies and Carbon transition.
